WHAT IT IS

Cycle Cairngorms Sportive is a 1 or 2-day charity cycle around the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, starting and finishing in Ballater stopping overnight at Badaguish, Aviemore with free soup and a roll on arrival at Badaguish on Saturday night and  free camping. The aim of the event is to raise funds to help people with disabilities enjoy an outdoor holiday in the Cairngorms National Park. It is organised by the Speyside Trust, a small, independent registered Scottish Charity, based at Badaguish Outdoor Centre.

Day 1 is 120 miles and Day 2 is 50 miles.

Entry Fees: One day (either day) £30 per entrant
  Both days: £40 per entrant

EVENT FORMAT

Sign up for the 360° – 2 days - or the 180° - 1 day

Option 1 Team Entries: Sign up a team of 3 for both days (or 1 day only)

Option 2 Individual Sponsored: Sign up for both days (or 1 day only)

Option 3 Individual Non-Sponsored: Sign up for Day 1 only - 180; or Both Day 1 and Day 2 - 360

This year there will be no minimum pledge to the charity
(but a suggested donation of £50 to cover the cost of bed and breakfast at Badaguish).

THE ROUTE

Cairngorm 180° - Day 1 only: 120 miles

Cairngorm 360° – Day 1 and Day 2: 170 miles

   
   
Day 1 - 120 miles  

Leaving Ballater and passing through Braemar before the climb up to Glenshee Ski Centre (2132 feet).

Passing through Kirkmichael and on to Pitlochry.

The route then picks up the Sustrans National Cycle route through Drumochter heading North through Newtonmore and Kingussie and finishing at Badaguish Outdoor Centre for an overnight stop.

Day 2 - 50 miles

Starts at Badaguish Outdoor Centre, near Aviemore and tackles the road through Bridge Of Brown, Tomintoul and over the Lecht (2090 feet), finishing in Ballater.
